Jan Hauf

About me

Jan Hauf discovered his passion for music at an early age, starting drum lessons at the age of 6 and piano lessons at 10 at the Music School Pfullingen. His enthusiasm for music led him to continue pursuing his dreams.

At just 15 years old, he was accepted into the PreCollege program at the Mannheim University of Music (MuHo Mannheim), where he studied with Prof. Peter Gall (drums), Prof. Claus Kiesselbach (jazz theory), and Prof. Stefan Zimmermann (ensemble).

After completing his Abitur with a focus on music, he began his Bachelor of Music studies at Mannheim University of Music (MuHo Mannheim) at the age of 17 in 2023.

As an active musician, Jan Hauf has performed with renowned artists such as Jakob Manz, Jakob Bänsch, and Jan Prax, among others.
Jan Hauf has participated in recordings with different bands (e.g., Iris Kramer Quartet, Morphil). He is a member of the State Youth Jazz Orchestra of Baden-Württemberg (LaJazzO) and has been part of various jazz big bands, pop & rock ensembles, and other musical projects. He is also involved in songwriting, organizing concerts and jam sessions, and accompanying different orchestras and ensembles.

His talent has been recognized through several competitions and awards, such as:

Jugend musiziert 2023 – 1st prize (national, 24/25 points)
Receipt of a special prize for national prizewinners in age group V for the Drumset Pop category
Swiss Percussion Competition (Elite, CH) – 2nd place (2022)
Youth Foundation of Kreissparkasse Reutlingen – Support for exceptional talent

With a strong foundation in jazz, pop, and contemporary music, Jan Hauf continues to push creative boundaries and shape his unique artistic voice.
